Gear Closet: Apple AirPods Wireless Earbud Review
Some time ago I saw a pair of very cheap wireless earbuds from a company called Suku kata. I found them to offer average quality sound and poor battery life, along with a frustrating charging system, but thought they were still worth seeing for $ 50. The biggest thing I took from testing the earphones was that I became people who are converting for real wireless movement, which is the earbud style that has absolutely no cables whatsoever. So, after using the Tribune model for the time being I recently decided to invest in AirPods Apple, the obviously more expensive option which delivers far better performance in almost every category.
Like other fully wireless earbuds I've tested, AirPods brings a true sense of freedom when listening to music, podcasts, or other audio types. I joined the wireless revolution some time ago, and found it to be a good choice when running specifically. However, while my favorite mini speakers have previously escaped to my phone, they still have one call from ear to ear. It was not too distracting, until I found out that I did not need it either. Now, I can not imagine going back to earbuds using any cable.
When designing AirPods, Apple pretty much got everything right. The technology giant is developing new chips designed specifically for use in headphones, and it does everything from regulating the battery life to pairing with other devices a snap. In fact, if you just open an AirPod charging case near your iPhone, your mobile device will automatically ask you to pair two gadgets via Bluetooth. If you have another Apple device, such as an iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac, AirPods will be automatically paired with that device using your iCloud account. And when iOS 11 goes down in a few weeks, it will even be paired with AppleTV too. If you are not a fan of Apple, do not be afraid. You can use AirPods too, you just need to pair it using the usual Bluetooth method, which is fast enough and not painful as well.
The sound quality in AirPods is incredible, offering more bass than I expected, not to mention a rich and deeper sound than anything I've ever heard from earbuds before. Do not misunderstand, this audio device will not compete with a full set, above ear headphones that offer a larger range of audio reproductions, but for as small and light as AirPods, its performance is quite remarkable. In fact, when listening to music and podcasts with them, I take small details that I usually do not get when playback ends through speakers for example. As I stated in the previous reviews, I am not an audiophile, but I am very pleased with the sound quality found here.
I'm also very impressed with the AirPod battery life. The earbud itself is capable of up to 5 hours of playback on a single charge, which is more than double the syllable model. In addition, Apple ships AirPods with well-designed cases, which are used to refill them. This casing offers an additional 24 hours of traveling expenses, which makes earbuds a great choice when traveling. And unlike the case of syllabic filling, AirPods sneaks perfectly into place at all times, ensuring that they are always charging and ready to go when you need it next.
This is a product from Apple, AirPods has a number of other nice touches as well. For example, if you drag one of them out of your ear while listening, it will automatically pause the playback until you return it to its position. Also, double tap AirPod will activate Siri, allowing you to ask the usual personal question set assistant, while also having pause dialing, volume ups, over tracks, and so on. This is very useful when running when you do not want to stop to remove your phone from its casing. The AirPods also has a built-in microphone that allows you to receive calls as well, enabling them to act as a standard Bluetooth device in that regard.
As you may know, I'm very impressed with what Apple has to say here. AirPods has made my life easier when working specifically, although I now find myself listening to them at other times too, just because they are so comfortable and comfortable. I began to appreciate how great their voices are, and little things like asking Siri to read my text or voice message in the middle so I do not have to stop to look at my phone. It's all very smooth and easy, which is the way all technology products should work.
In the past, one of my biggest challenges with using any earbud is to keep them in my ears. No matter how many silicon ends of various sizes are shipped with this product, I will definitely have a problem, usually with my right ear. As a result, not infrequently they come out while running, which will disturb after a while. That has not happened at all with AirPods, which despite my hesitation never gets out. At first I was worried I would lose one of these expensive earbuds, but after weeks of running with them almost every day, the fear was long gone.
As mentioned, AirPods is much more expensive than the Tribes model I used before. While low-end devices cost around $ 50, Apple's offer sells for $ 159. It's actually quite competitive with other high end wireless earbuds, and there are many others from other manufacturers whose price is even more than that. Considering how well built and designed AirPods, not to mention all the functions they provide, I feel that they are worth the cost, especially for someone who loves listening to music and podcasts on a regular basis. If you're like me, you'll find a reason to use it more.
The only drawback of Apple AirPods is actually the ability to get their hands on. Earbuds were first introduced by Apple in November 2016, and for months they have been re-booked for up to six weeks. Recently, the delivery time has dropped to 2-3 weeks, which is a bit more detained. Finally, supply will catch up on demand, but for those looking to order now, patience will be a bit of a requirement. I promise they are worth the wait.
